Important information you need to know about our Permanent Makeup

  • The highest standards of hygiene are met, and sterile disposable needles are used for each individual client, procedure and visit.
  • A sensitivity test for pigment does not guarantee that you will not have an allergic response, although allergic response to pigment is rare.
  • A sensitivity reaction to anesthetics can occur but again this is rare.
  • High quality non-toxic pigments are used during the procedure and the cosmetic enhancement achieved may fade over the course of 1-3 years.
  • Even though the colour fades, the pigment may stay in the skin indefinitely and may leave a light residue of colour.
  • Each procedure is a process requiring multiple applications of pigment to achieve desirable results, and 100% success cannot be guaranteed. This is why you need to return for a control procedure that is included in the initial price.
  • The control procedure, if required, will be performed 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure and that after a 2-month period you will be charged an additional fee for any procedures. A control procedure takes place at least 4 weeks after the initial application to allow the procedure site to fully heal. We will book the appointment when it is convenient for both parties.
  • The result of the procedure is extremely individual and the pigment may not heal into the skin as evenly and as defined as you would like and this will be determined by the following variables:
    •
    • Skin Characteristics – i.e. dry/oily/sun-damaged
    • Location of your hair follicles, sweat glands, oil glands
    • Your age and hormone activity
    • Your immune system at the time of the treatment
    • Your natural skin colour undertones
    • Sun exposure and past sun damage
    • Medication and diet and general stress levels
    • Alcohol intake and smoking
    • Post procedure care treatment
  • Upon completion of the procedure there may be swelling and redness of the skin, which will subside within 1-4 days dependent on lifestyle. In some cases small bruising can occur.
  • You can resume normal activities immediately following the procedure, however, using cosmetics, prolonged exposure to water, excessive perspiration and exposure to the sun should be limited for up to two weeks following the infusion process.
  • Immediately after the procedure the enhancement can be 30 to 50% darker than the desired result and can take between 4-10 days to lighten. The true colour will be visible 1 month after each application, and the colour may vary according to skin tones, skin type, age and skin conditions. Some skins accept colour more readily than others and no guarantee of an exact effect or colour can be given.
  • Scar camouflage procedures require skin colour-matching tests before the actual procedure commences and will not give the result of a completely undetectable scar.
  • In extremely rare cases, the pigment may migrate under the skin, causing a blurred effect.
  • Loss of 3-4 eyelashes during the healing of permanent cosmetic eye enhancements will result in new eyelash growth over a 4 month period and eyelash loss is rare and minimal.
  • There are a few effective methods for pigment removal. Most method will lighten the pigment rather than fully remove it. All methods carry the risk of micro scarring under the skin, which can prevent future pigment retention. The methods of pigment lightening are: Laser, glycolic acid or alkaline solutions or saline.
  • You will need to inform your doctor of your permanent cosmetic enhancement if you require a MRI scan within a 3 month period of receiving the procedure.
  • You will also need to follow all pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions as provided and explained to you by Jo.
  • Infection and possible scarring can occur if you do not adhere to our instructions.
  • When you sign the consent forms you must declare if you have, to your knowledge, any physical, mental, or medical impairment or disability that might affect your well being as a direct or indirect result of your decision to have the procedure.
