Fat Dissolving Injections

What is fat dissolving? 

Very simply, it’s a solution injected into those stubborn, localised pockets of fat in the chin, thighs, stomach, saddle bags, bra fat, back fat and knees. It can also be used for men suffering from Pseudo-gynocomastia.

The treatment plan should consist of between 2-8 sessions and I can advise on how many you may need at the consultation.

The procedure requires minimal downtime, so you can go back to work the same day as receiving treatment. It’s not uncomfortable or invasive, which means patients experience minimal worry or stress before the procedure.

How does it work?

The active ingredient Sodium Deoxycholate dissolves the areas of fat which are difficult to lose despite improving diet and exercise. Sodium Deoxycholate is a precursor to deoxycholic acid which is a naturally occurring bile acid present within the body. It’s ability to affect cell membranes in adipocytes when injected makes it perfect for fat dissolving procedures. 

During application, active substances lead to damage and cracking of the membranes of fat cells in the treated zone and to the leaking of their content into the surrounding tissue. The released liquid fat travels through the blood stream to the liver and then is excreted out of the system down the toilet.

The procedure is fairly pain free and I will use an anesthetic cream first. However after the treatment, redness and mild swelling may appear on the treated areas but this should subside within a relatively short time period and it is important to follow the post treatment advice which includes drinking plenty of water and massaging the treated area.

The final effect comes after two months of the procedure when clients will notice a reduction of fat in the areas that were once difficult to banish.

Great!…Can I use this instead of dieting and exercising!

I’m afraid not! The treatment is not a substitute for losing weight but if you are on a weight loss plan, with a good balanced healthy diet and lots of exercise, then this can help with the stubborn fat pockets that just don’t seem to want to go anywhere! Although the fat cells are destroyed permanently, any fat cell that was not destroyed during the treatment plan, can continue to fill with fat if you do not eat well or exercise.
